Finding new ways to decorate your buffet table on a budget can be an extreme challange if your clueless on what to do. The two important factors that you must decide on is your color theme, and secondly how to display your food. I found that if you display your desserts or horderves at different levels like a tiering effect it will give your table a dimensional look that is more appealing to the eye.
When entertaining in your home most of us normally don't have the fancy chafing dishes and pedastal dishes, You may be surprised to know that possibly you could have some items in your home that you can use to give the same tiering effect without having to go out and buy something. We all don't have thousands of dollars to spend on extravagent dishes to be used for one time, personally I'd rather spend all the money on the food than what I'm serving it on. Take a look around your house before we get started and see if you have any glass vases that your not using, candle sticks, baskets, old jewelry boxes, glass bowls, sometimes these itemes can be used to put your plates on different levels. To make the display on this page I used several kinds of glass vases that I had from a previous wedding. (You can find most of these vases at Michaels Arts & Crafts), Tall and medium sized cylinder vases, and small square vases. White and yellow ribbon to wrap around the top of the vases, Yellow daisies were hot glued onto the ribbon for decoration. The clear plastic trays were bought at the Dollar Tree and hot glued onto the rim of the glass vases, it held very well preventing the trays for tipping over.

The cake was very simple to make, Believe me I am not an expert cake baker. I used 1 box of yellow cake mix, a few daises for decorations, and yellow ribbon wrapped around each layer. Cake was held up by a large square glass vase underneath.
You can add flowers to the inside of the vases if you want to add more color , Adding a framed picture inside the vase is always beautiful too, there are so many ways to decorate the inside of these vases, All it takes is a little imagination and go for it.

ReplyDeleteResourcefulness at its finest - Coming up with a myriad of floral arrangement need not be expensive. As you've said, all we need to do is to scour around the house and find useful things to complement the flowers. Florists can also pitch in with their expert advice to make good flower arrangement into a better one. Now this way of putting pedestals on the table, so creative.
